Peabrain and other neat stuff is moving!

I haven't written in a while, because I've been drawing a comic (!!! more on that later) and then both Dogstar work (we're on our very last episode now! ending work Dec), and Porcelain work (to end shortly after dogstar too) are priority which takes up most of my other energy and time.
Plus, I've also been in the process of moving my blogging over to a new blog! as i wrote this one has always been temporary as I feel it's a bit hard on the eyes.
Thank-you to all who follow this blog, I don't know how many people do, but i just recently found out at least two mothers of people who know me, follow this, which was a wonderful surprise! I'm glad I didn't curse (too much).
okay, so my new webblog is-

pretty simple to remember yeah? my name with no spaces, and then blogspot dot com.

so I've just started from the beginning, with a heap of spooky doll kids art, old stuff, but as yet unseen. even Timothy didn't know of some of the artwork.
over the next 6 days i will keep putting project artworks up sequntially til present day.
    so,
    see you all there!

    My first Spooky's film review!

Look what i just found, this cool review From Fitzroy Shorts in Melbourne! thank-you!

    Spooky Doll Kids

    Animator: Roseline Lau

Tagline: A great funny & spooky short

In this great stop-motion animated short, we follow the adventures of Brownie the gingerbread girl, Taboo the Voodoo doll and Scribble the paper kid.

Someone has been eating Brownie in her sleep and she rushes to see Taboo for help. With his and Scribble assistance, they infiltrate a spooky cult to investigate and that’s where the story really takes off.

I liked this short for several reasons, from the brilliant character designs to the excellent settings and storyline.

One of the best things about watching shorts is that they give you the chance to see the early work of emerging artists and their collaborators before they get famous. After watching this short, I am sure the animator has a bright future ahead of her.

Hopefully this short gest a wider audience and this is the first in a series of films featuring these characters.

    Rating: 9/10

this Friday in Manhatten, wave to Brownie.

    Check it out.
Rooftop Films NY plays my film this Friday. Tomorrow night! Manhatten! New York! it's still exciting to say that.
    and they chose a cute promo pic of Brownie to put on the page, take a look;

Due to the short notice and everything that's been going on here work and rabbit wise, I haven't been able to organise a trip there in time. :(
I will try and see if I can get in contact with someone there who might record it on camera for me. the next best thing than to being there in person with the audience.

    My best little friend Olive

    Olive 28-7-2000 to 22/7/2006

the best digger in the world
she made the best tunnels and holes
    the quickest bite ever
she wasn't afraid to tell me where to go if I annoyed her
    the most forgiving friend
even if I forgot to feed her on time, she was never mad at me
    the most trusting creature
she hates being carried, but would still run to me for a pat, after I had to catch her for one reason or another
the most affectionate bunny rabbit ever
she wouldn't stop nudging my hand for a pat, and even preferred head pats over food.
    the quirkiest rabbit habits ever
like throwing sticks in the air with her mouth, chewing and tugging at jeans and shoelaces,
    the funniest athelete
she liked jumping up in the air, jumping in and out of her hay box, darting superfast from corner to corner, rolling on her back like a cat, lying flat as a pancake when she was out of breath from running around too much.
    the cutest angry face
she didn't have soft eyelashes, but instead her eyes always looked naughty and bratty
    the most loyal buddy
she knew me, and would follow me around. and come entusiastically whenever I called her.

I'm sorry you had to go Olive, I thought you'd be around for another two years.
and I'm sorry you struggled to breath so much in the last few hours. I'll miss you badly little buddy.

Its gonna be my halfbirthday this Sunday! I'll be 27 and a half.

My halfbirthday, it's such a Rosey thing. and I hope it'll feel like like these pictures I drew.  Mmmm, =:) .... big teacups you can sit in, red helium balloons, giant hotdogs, surprise cupcakes...

Bask in the superness of these little kids!

The teacup on is based on my real rabbit Alice. and the hotdog rabbit reminds me of my little brat rabbit Olive. The balloon cat is inspired by Timothy's clothes (we went shopping in the city Friday evening).

Spooky Dolls in Monster Exhibit = POOH

    POOH
(after driving down there and taking time off work, me and Tim arrived to find)
     IT WAS CANCELLED!!!

My Spooky Doll Kids have been invited to another screening which is good because the festival film life is starting to get old, they're almost two years old!
Tomorrow, Friday 02 june 2006, at 2.30pm, in the Perth Museum of Western Australia, the Old Goal Coartroom.

Whoo! it's a free screening and I don't think there will be many people there. but I've saved up time at work to take a break and mosy down to the musieum and sit amongst whatever audience there is. Must remember to bring my camera this time.

    card for mum

I've been SO tired lately. can't stop yawning. more coffee. headaches.
After work, I can't even bear to turn on my computer, let alone sit in front of it for more than 15 minutes to get some Porcelain work in. Pooh.
Whenever it's a birthday, or a season holiday for giving, I sometimes like to make my own cards for my family and occasionally friends. I never know what I'm going to draw up, and i think i have nothing, but by the end it usually turns out pretty neat. Here's the one for my mum last Sunday.
    April 30

    purple tails

At work I was animating Boombah's tail, and it went purple, and so in response to something exciting Tim said, I replied "purple tail!", and Timothy pointed out it sounded like something Brownie would curse when something goes wrong.

    So here's Brownie being domestic.

On the Porcelain front, it's been flowing easily and I'll be through the two major sequences for the apartment scene by mid-week. I've been drawing all the clean keys out all weekend.
    April 23

Demons and Rabbits, but not Demon Rabbit

Here's a sketch i did last week, exercising Demons. (yeah i took that off now. I'm keeping that for myself)

I'm in the middle of doing two long shots for Porcelain apartment scene, to be done by this weekend. and we have two meetings for discussing progress this week...

...and here's some rabbit pictures. New 2yr old Alice (the white one), and just to be fair, my 4 year old brat rabbit Olive too....the black one
